[Solved] Game Will Not Start, Even After Following Ubisoft FIx
My game wouldn't launch after the recent update, so I browsed to the local game files under ../SteamApps/common/Heroes of Might & Magic III - HD Edition/..." and tried launching the "HOMM3 2.0.exe" file directly as Administrator, I got an error about a missing DLL file. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

Still unable to launch the game, I tried the pinned post of Ubisoft instructions from Ubi-Thrupney and found them to be unworkable, since the _CommonDistr folder didn't exist in my gamefiles.

Google then provided: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-fix-openal32-dll-not-found-or-missing-errors-2623883

If you scroll down to subheading "How to Fix Openal32.dll Errors" and then apply Fix #4 - your game should start to launch like mine did. It was copying into the SysWOW64 folder that solved it for me.

Apologies for the delay Erunaraina!

Glad to see you've since found a fix and thank you for sharing it here.
