M1 is a bad mistake from Apple, because thanks to it MacOS lost even more support for games, even Linux is now a superior gaming OS than MacOS. I have a friend whose parents bought him a M1 laptop and he can't play anything on it. My personal suggestion to you is to try and sell yours and try to get a computer with Windows and a x64 processor instead.

I just bought the game now and looked forward to play it but realized it doesnt work on mac. there was a version released on ipad some years ago? cant find it!

if you insist on HD edition then the only ways are crossover / porting kit

with original version of the game game there is 1 more option that is total H3 game remake called VCMI which works natively on macos, but since it is community fan project it has some bugs and stuff but is improving over time
