I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with the game mechanics for this game myself but if you contact us directly via our {LINK REMOVED}Support Site or private message us on {LINK REMOVED}Facebook or {LINK REMOVED}Twitter, we can send this to our game team to answer for you.
Please make sure to include your Ubisoft account username and email if contacting on social media private message, so we can link the conversation to your account.

If it's a campaign map, try restarting the scenario and rush it there now that you know where it is.
You are indeed correct, the images shared do point to the enemy already having been there and dug it. Thank you for taking your time out to share your knowledge and experience.
Hi drainey,
Thank you for reaching out and sorry to hear that you were not expecting this.
To help us verify if this is exactly what happened, would it be possible to share with us a link to a video using a third party video sharing website of your choice? This would be especially useful if you are able to restart the scenario and we can see how this happened.
Many thanks,
- Ubisoft Support
- Keep playing the map and kill all enemy heroes. If one of them had the Grail it confirms the enemy dug it and you didn't see it (whether it was because of a bug or because an overlooking issue). If nobody had it there's still the chance that their hero died before reaching any of its cities.
- Repeat the map and rush the dig. Record it if you can just in case, like Ubi-WheelyDuck said. In hard mode, the AI looks for the dig site before checking all monoliths so it's not rare that they reach it before you do. If you find it then it's all good. If you don't then you'll replicate the problem and will have better info for the support crew to find the issue.
wouldnt it have a dig graphics though to show its been dug in that area already?
The only instances where grail bugs may happen (again, AFAIK) are when making maps and they are not exactly bugs, it's just the game behaviour. Like if a map maker creates a grail digging site but puts no obelisks in the map the grail will never be dug even if someone digs in its exact spot.
is there a bug where if you dig up the site before all the oblisk have been seen?

this has to be a bug
