playing with steam friends

Hello!
i cant invite me steam friends to play with me and even they cant invite eachother.
we send invites but the chat pops up empty with no link\invite.
what to do?

Have you guys managed to solve this problem? I have added my friends on Steam but we cannot play HHM3 together. I have one pop up saying that my friend had not completed a profile, now it is saying that the server is not responding.

nop =\ i tried to ask steam for help but they are ♥♥♥♥♥ and dont give a ♥♥♥♥.
i tried 3rd party game ranger but specificly HD edition isnt in their play list so we cant.
steam just took money for nothing. sry

I have read that you need to send an invite and then your friend needs to click on your name in his friendslist and choose launch game. After that he/she will be in your lobby.

i know this is probably too late for everyeon, but this works. detailed steps below

1. Player One goes into Heroes III HD Main Menu -> New Game -> Multiplayer -> Online -> Host Game, enter Session name and password (although irrelevant)
2. You should get a "Please Wait" dialogue with one of the heroes creatures. Once this load you are a the Scenario selection screen.
3. On the bottom right, there is an "Invite" button. Click this and select the steam friend you want to invite (Player 2)
4. Player 2 then clicks on Player 1's name in their Steam Friends LIst and there should now be an option for "Join Game". Click this. The game should load and bring Player 2 to the scenario selection screen

Sadly it keeps saying server is unavailable. We were able to play a game, but now it won't let us rejoin.

Well you can invite by yourself ;)
If your friend created game, just right click on
his/her/combat helicopter profile and join game.
If this doesn't work then idk. check files, confirm game by checking
(right click) on Heroes 3 icon at your library

it works you just need HOTA update (which is unofficial) which allow you to play online:D there is threads in the discussion in Heroes 3 about this update, could be on russian as it's a russian guy who made it i believe but it works!
