map editor maps
I can't seem to get the set editor maps to load in the game, I have looked online extensively and cant find anything compatable with this version that explains how to load or import the custom maps.

Struggling with same issue. My map name has Ä letter in it, so that's the only thing that comes to mind right now, will test changing name, if I can't find anything else

I didn't find answer from internet which would solve my problem, but I changed 2 things! When I first saved my map it was Rähinä.h3m in just normal windows folder and I drag&dropped it from there to that maps/EN folder. I did now 2 things and one of them solved the problem. I saved the map without ä letters and I saved it right into maps/EN folder, without drag&dropping it. I hope this solves your and maybe some future problems

No, i cant find a folder called "maps/EN" anywhere on the system. I see; Documents/ Ubisoft/ Heroes of Might & Magic III - HD Edition/ pref. within the "pref" i do see a "maps" folder along with a "data" and "games" foler also, nothing was in any of the folders. I saved the map in all folders in case it could work and nothing... I even named it "AAA" so its on top of the list and very easy to find among the others, NOTHING !!!! its very frusterating...

I have no problem loading up my maps when I make them, but then again it's important you save it straight to the correct directory - for some reason it doesn't accept drag n' drop. Old games, old quirks amirite?

It's an HD remake afterall, all remakes have issues in some manner or perspective. My biggest problem with HoMM 3 HD is that they still haven't fixed the game crashing sometimes on Win 10. It happens way less often than with cracked versions of the game, but it's incredible they haven't fixed that yet.

Did you find a solution? I have exactly the same problem

Is there any solution? I have the same problems. Im from germany if that is necessary. I cant load my own map. Map test says: There is no problem. I saved it in
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Heroes of Might & Magic III - HD Edition\data\maps\DE

I have all my games on D:\ not C:\

Just bought the game for some nostalgia, but the custom map editor would make this a lot more playable.

Ok I found the solution myself, I gess I'm dumb.
Correct folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Heroes of Might & Magic III - HD Edition\data\maps\EN

So the program files folder, not the Documents folder!
