HoMM3, is it worth buying?

Hey there fellow reader, i have been thinking of buying HoMM3 (Heroes of Might and Magic III/3) for quite a while now but the thing is I don't know if its worth buying, gameplay wise and cost wise, if anyone out there is willing to tell me some qualitys of the game if I would buy the game, I want this game to be in my libary with something that I'll actually play and not a old dust-covered game in a bookshelf, ya' know? so If anyone is willing to tell me the qualitys, then thanks.

cost wise and gameplay wise.. Do NOT buy this one. go on GOG, buy the COMPLETE Heroes 3 for way cheaper money, and a little more gameplay

This is as far as I know, the base game. I played the base game allot. So I enjoy it. But it is missing some of the fun units and maps from the expansions, Conflux towns, and the combined artifacts and such.

yes it is the GOG complete version, then get yourself the ipx wrapper so you can multiplayer using V LAN like Tunngle or Evolve. Evolve is easier.

See, im quite new to HoMM but I have played local at a friends house and I really enjoyed it, but I havent played campaign, Im gonna play mostly the campaign and then where you choose a map and play against bots/computers. So whats the talk on campaign?

The campaign is alright, but like others said - get the complete GOG version. This might be one of the most beautifull games ever made. even after all these years the gameplay is fun and challenging, and it grabs you and doesn't let go. I can't recall the countless times I said to myself 'just one more turn' and ending up 3 hours later. This game is worth your buck everytime, its just a timeless classic!
