Signals in Free Roam
Is it possible to disable ALL signals in Free Roam mode, so it actually becomes a free roam? Otherwise I don't see why this game mode exists

No, but they will not bother you a lot if there are no other trains.

Signals are a core part of any route. The term 'free roam' simply means you're allowed to go wherever you want basically. The core functions of the route are still there.

Well in Free Roam, red signals still stop me from passing them, no matter if there are other trians or not. Isn't there any way to pass these signals anyway?

You have to setup a path first for your train to take before the signals turns green. You need to do that in the overhead map.

It's so annoying the trains are limited to the tracks in free roam

And how do I do that, exactly? What's the overhead map? I can in no map I find setup any path or schedule for my train.

Press 9 to get to the map. Click on the locomotive or train and choose Set Path from the popup menu. Then click somewhere on the map where you want to go to. If the game is able to create a path from where you are and to where you want to go, click Confirm. If it says Not a Valid Path, then you either need to select another track, or start on another track that allows the game to create a path.

Reading the manuals is a great thing to start with.

You can also set a "go via" path, meaning you can set your route and have it take a different track but going the same direction if applicable.

But it has to be done after the initial path has been laid down.
