Report a translation problem
You have to setup a path first for your train to take before the signals turns green. You need to do that in the overhead map.
Press 9 to get to the map. Click on the locomotive or train and choose Set Path from the popup menu. Then click somewhere on the map where you want to go to. If the game is able to create a path from where you are and to where you want to go, click Confirm. If it says Not a Valid Path, then you either need to select another track, or start on another track that allows the game to create a path.
But it has to be done after the initial path has been laid down.
