Multiplayer?
Is there some kind of multiplayer to do routes with friends or is it solely solo?

DTG have clearly indicated for years that they have no interest in MP. Therefore I would not hold your breath on that point. :(

If you want MP then consider Trainz or Run8.

SimRail (here on Steam) might be for you. It is fully multiplayer.

Multiplayer, Yes. It's called using a FORUM to interact with trolls, and people who can't read a statement correctly, plus end boss fights with Fanboi's who will fight you back if you say DTG are 💩.
