Good luck with that. Unless a Metrolink engineer who just happens to have driven that engine both IRL and in game sees this, you can only really get opinions.

What I can say for fact is that Matt from DTG has said on a livestream a while back that Metrolink has given them nearly unlimited access to their equipment which is much more access then they usually get from other railroads, so take that as you will.

I can say having driven it in game, the sound quality is great. Horn has an awesome reverb or echo and the engine is a beast.

Try searching on YT and see what POV videos and or in Cab videos you find. You will only get so much realism and immersion in TSW, now unless the modding community takes the time to get sounds from rl recordings and create sound mods like https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/user/its-ya165

I took the time to learn the 1990 program run8 recently because I saw many really trashing on dovetail physics.

What I generally found that the acceleration and braking curve are fine for US content. Sure run8 goes into much more detail for couplers and air/ suspension simulation. But the general feel of driving was surprisingly similar.

Well this specific train isn´t in run8 so take this with a grain of salt.

Was trying to find out if basic DTG shovel-ware or could it be at least a half decent attempt like Searchlight Simulations.

As stated already, unless a real-world engineer did or is driving this loco, and is willing to make any statements, then as I said you will get only so much in a Train Sim like TSW and or Simrail outside of the Real world. And that is nearly impossible.

That's true. I don't think anything in TSW is going to compare to what Searchlight have done from a physics and mechanical/interactive standpoint but I think TSW is starting to catch up with some things. Majority of the rolling stock IMO needs mods to supplement driving mechanics to feel more realistic but the Metrolink stuff has stood out on its own. I haven't driven the F59 yet but if its the same workmanship quality we got with the F125 it should feel and sound pretty good.

I have searched and since I don't have an order number I can't contact them via the support form on their website, how are they connected to Simrail?
From their website https://store.searchlight-simulations.com I click on Devlog13 and it brings me to here https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1422130/view/3106927031231073332?fbclid=IwAR0aQm8rbMjheX_AwAX75r0rybRXX6aVA_25BgGr5xZ32L_vflnuAb_S7qE
Which still shows no connection to Searchlight if they are devs I have not seen which part of Simrail.
would you know?

Hey bud, I only know a little about Simrail, I purchased it but didn't play it too much. I do know that Searchlight has been working on a US route for Simrail. This was the last thing they posted on their FB about it https://www.facebook.com/share/p/161pGTjbAK/.
