dont save a game
Hello, after entering the game, I play train trainings etc. I get medals etc. However, when I close and open the game again, the entire game is reset. What is the solution for this?

There is none to be honest, and the save game system is buggy at best, this is how the game is designed, and in many cases a good thing, because if you screwed and the train setup and it saved, that would not be good.

Or are you talking about the awards you received?
Verify the game files, and make sure you have no outdated mods, If need be, contact DTG support.
All the game settings, including your player profile which contains the medals etc, are saved in the following folder:
\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5\Saved

Make sure that nothing interferes with that folder and make a backup of it regularly. Some people have had problems in the past due to it being synced with OneDrive or something similar.
Or the user data protection from Windows Defender doesn't know that TSW is legit to change something in the user folders...

Also saving games into the \Documents folder was done at times from Windows XP and earlier, today (since Windows Vista or 7) the \appdata\xxx folder is used.
So you know how actual the devs are...

indeed, why doesn't saving the game work? I added everything I could to the exceptions (Windows Defender), and it still doesn't work.
Windows UAC, the antivirus program, can also cause this to happen, and Windows Firewall, because the game needs to connect to DTL for mastery tracking, whenever photomode is used, and it is uploaded to your DTL account.
Game runs also offline, only after a patch there's once a connection required due to Denuvo.
I don't have a DTG account because it doesn't make much sense and also the game progress isn't even stored in the account (similar to cloud save but at DTG and not Steam).
TSW5 does not have Denuvo, you're welcome to read through here https://steamcommunity.com/groups/DenuvoWatch/discussions/0/597393167077127287/
Besides, the TSW5 FREE starter pack was available til Jan 9th.
Yes, the game can run offline; one way is to have the Steam App set to offline, and when the game is offline, it can't update.
Or just ignore the login prompt, but again, if you want to track challenges or use the creators club, the game needs to be online and logged in.

I'll try that out after next patch. I've installed "Tiny Wall" (frontend for Windows firewall), which blocks internet connections per default, programs which are allowed to have internet connection have to be put into a positive list.
I can remember that TSW 5 needed connection at the first start to run like the previous versons which had Denuvo, I'll remove it from Tiny Wall and then see how it acts after next patch. The fast loading times into main menu (compared to earlier times / old TSW versions) can be due to no / removed Denuvo but I've also changed (and upgraded in size) the SSD on which TSW (all versions) was installed from M.2 SATA to M.2 NVMe.

I only use Bitdefender, the paid version; there is also a free version, and it does a very good job, IMHO. As for the SSD type, it really should not make a difference, the only difference is that NVMe shares threads / power with PCIE slots. ?

Today was a new patch, I've tried out starting patched TSW without internet access and it started.

So TSW 5 has definetely no Denuvo.
With Denuvo it would show an error message that internet access is required (once) for authentification.
