Is every "scenario" quest on the San Bernardino line bugged?
Ive been trying to play the "Scenario" quests for the San Bernardino line and im not getting anywhere because of bugs. I dont know what the PC version of this game is like, but it seems the PS5 version has bugs in that need fixing. I already cannot finish the Cajon Pass Shop Class quest, because it wont pass me on the final task of the quest.

With Race Way, the train refuses to go forwards for some reason, even if i have the reverser in forwards, and i do everything the game tells me to do. On the Depot Days quest, the train wont move at all, even when i do everything the game tells me........this is annoying, i hope these bugs get fixed.

hmm...I completed Raceway Scenario with no trouble.

If I am sure I have completed all steps correctly to move forward and nothing happens then I usually go ESC/Reset physics and return. It means setting up again but usually I get going. I also do Escape/Restart and that can help.

Make sure to do tutorials for the route first as it will tell you what to do.

And for scenarios, make sure to follow the steps given in the order it tells you and try not to do things you are not being told to do.

And don't do the steps before you are told to do them, since this can mess up things.

And if you are still having issues, you need to create a ticket with DTG

I havent bothered with the train tutorial for that particular train (the MP36HP-3C ML i think), because in "scenario" modes, the game tells you step by step anyway how to power up the train and get it going, so the game shouldnt be telling you what to do if doing so doesnt work.

Is it my imagination or is the breaking system on american trains lame compared to british trains?. I use the breaking section of the throttle lever on american trains and it seems to take forever to slow them down, that i end up having to use the separate red lever break instead.

Also is there a way to be able to look at the photo's other players have taken in the creation section, like you can on the Forza driving games?.

I think for most the american train, the brake section of the throttle lever is the dynamic brake. You should try to use the train brake instead.

First, if you are new to TSW__ I Suggest you do go through the training center and do the training for the trains you do own, while yes TSW is a hand holder, I can't disagree with you there, but Which DLCs do you have?

I bought the special edition, as there was a big black friday reduction on it, so i got all the DLC's that come with that. I have gone through all of the basic training modules in the training centre

If you do have the ES44C4 in the Training Module and I think with that edition, you should have it, I would suggest you do the training for this loco, https://postimg.cc/vxW9Xy0D & https://postimg.cc/bZCXKRpn, as well as downhill hill starting. It will give you a good working knowledge of the US trains that have similar braking systems such as the MP36/Baby bullet.

The braking systems of UK and US trains are on par with each other with no one system being better than the other. They are the same but just used slightly differently.

The dynamic brake you are trying to use to stop the train actually has the same use as a retarder in trucks and is used to assist in maintaining low speed down inclines. It is actually not a brake but a back EMF on the drive motors that provides a resistance to the wheels spinning.

Unfortunately the faster you are going the less impact the dynamic brake has on slowing the train down until, eventually, it actually becomes worthless.

Stopping is always carried out by the automatic brake. We in the UK only have one or two inclines (Licky comes to mind in the Birmingham dlc) that would compare to US inclines.

i also have issues with this line. The Race Way scenario, even on success I end up with a black screen and all I can do is go back to main menu. And the achievement is not unlocked even though I've completed it. In fact, I've completed this scenario 3 times after trying different screen settings hoping it would matter. It doesn't. I just end up with a black screen and no completion splash screen that we usually get.
Very annoying. It's VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY annoying.

I also might be a lil tipsyl

All I can say is that you get a nice cut scene of your passengers heading off to the bus and a congratulations message that they managed to catch it. Then we find out how you did.
This is pissing me off I’ve completed it three times and it’s just black screen and never finishes. They need to fix this already. I’m on ps5
Made a ticket guess will see what happens. Supposedly there fixing it

Same thing just happened to me. I failed the scenario last night and got there in time today but at the end of race way it just turns my screen black. I can go in the menu but I cannot complete this scenario. I am using ultrawide.

Well, "but an investigation is ongoing," a typical DTG reply. I have completed this some time ago, but I have also seen many people, be it on PC, XB, PS, and I think Epic version, say the same thing: no route breakdown after completing it. And this has been like this for several months now.

I can update on my San Bernardino experience with Raceway.

This afternoon I managed to completely get it wrong and arrived late (unscheduled emergency stop) and upset the passengers (I did get the cut scene of upset passengers) because the bus left without them. The main difference was that, after the cut scene, the scenario went to a blank screen and became completely unresponsive after that.

So now even my, usually, fully working San Bernardino raceway scenario is hit by the blank screen bug.
