Short freeze every couple of seconds
It depends on the route, or the speed, but every couple of seconds game freezes for a few miliseconds, despite having a lot of FPS. That;s super annoying. I tried different graphics quality modes, and it doesn't seem to have impact. Is it only me? I'm super depressed. I got this game as a gift, and as much as I want to play it, after 10 minutes I'm irritated and turn it off.
Previously I played a lot in truck simulator ETS2, and all works fine there even for ultra graphics quality. But I love trains much more :(

No that is the nature of this beast "TSW" The more you drive the more you build up the shader cache, and it would help a bit more if you used a modified ini file.
Have a look here and hope you get it worked out.

For years i had 16 gbs of memory and i just upgraded to 32 gbs and it made a fairly big differance on the freezes and stutters. Mostly on the newer routes

This is interesting. I am on a different operating system (Linux) and after a shader caching update I can wait one or two minutes with an updating Vulkan shaders message before the program actually starts up.

I used to find this irritating but once the program starts I am on 60 fps most of the time with the occasional screen cough every now and again (this is on all, even new, dlc's so not enough for me to get irritated).

So, after seeing these comments, waiting on the Vulkan shader update doesn't irritate me as much now.

I did put -DX12 in the properties but I decided to leave it blank (DX11 is default) after deciding it did nothing to enhance the game (on my system) and seemed to make the frame rate worse.

I should mention that, on my system, the older dlc's such as Trans-Pennine, Tees Valley, London Commuter and GWE (even after the remaster) run at a constant 58-60fps (my user set limit - my output is HDMI, which I understand runs at 60 fps output), whilst the WCML and Frankfurt-Fulda run at a constant 45-55fps even when arriving at Euston (yesterday I had F3 toggled on all the way down to Euston to check the frame rate has improved).

btw, I have 32Gb RAM, AMD 5600X cpu and AMD RX 6600 GPU so not a top end system.

This is direct from DTG, But I as well as many others have used and still use the launch option settings in this post with TSW2 -->> TSW5 and with no crashes that I know of from others and not from me either. At the same time, many including me use a modified engine.ini and many mods. If you are interested in DX12 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/which-version-of-directx-is-on-your-pc-3c688307-6c44-2ff5-9df7-d90d92bf5239

Starting with Windows Vista, the 64-bit versions of Windows have two Program Files folders. The regular Program Files folder holds 64-bit applications, while "Program Files (x86)" is used for 32-bit applications. Installing a 32-bit application in a PC with a 64-bit Windows automatically gets directed to Program Files (x86). See Program Files and x86.

right click on Train Sim World 5 > Manage > browse local Files > open windiowsnoedtior > right Click 5 TrainsimWorld.exe Properties =C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 5\WindowsNoEditor Note (((Program Files (x86)" is used for 32-bit applications))) as stataed by https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/program-files-x86#:~:text=The%20regular%20Program%20Files%20folder,See%20Program%20Files%20and%20x86.

TSW5 is an x64, not an x32 here is a link to Virustotal after scanning the TSW5.exe you try it yourself at the bottom of the page it shows x64

What I do find odd and interesting is that TSW5 has zero real info on the PCGaming Wiki and yet TSW3,4 has info.
