1S45 0855 Preston To Carlisle Timings Impossible?
I've driven 1S45 0855 Preston to Lancaster where I gave up. It's impossible to keep time. I'm given 16 minutes from Preston to Lancaster arriving at 0911.

However the train is timed to run at 100mph as it's a rake of Mk2 stock.

For me to make Lancaster for 0911 I'd have to break the speed limit.

If it had been timed at 110mph it's possible to make it.

Wow I didn't realise they had made the timetable so realistic. Trains always being late and all connections being missed so takes me back to the good old days of British Rail. So nostalgic.

DTG have been known for years to have really bad timing for their Services, and this dates back to when I first came about in this franchise in 2013-14.

It is very rare that they will redo the Timetables as they've already received their initial income upon release, so there is really no need to be fixing it anymore.

For an example, even back in Train Simulator Classic, their iconic "Donner Pass" Route, which was high in demand, and was made really well, BUT.... the timings were 100% impossible...

After a couple of years of nothing being done, DTG then came out and announced their "Bug Squashing Team", which was going to go through each and every DLC that had issues [all of them] and "squash those bugs".

They did 2 Routes per Month [if I remember Correctly], which they personally made a Forum Topic for each Route. When the time came that they made one for Donner Pass, Members of the Community provided DTG with solutions to fix the timings as that was the main issue with the Route.... they responded how appreciative they were that we are here to help..... and.... they never did anything about it......

While I'm writing this though, and as I haven't played Train Sim Classic for many years, I was curious if anything had been done yet.... a simple Google Search provided me with the instant answer of "no..... no they haven't"....

However, only last year [2024] there has now been a Patch made by a Community Member....

13 years since Donner Pass was released.... a promise to fix a problem.... solutions provided to them by the Community... and an absolute slap in the f'ing face from DTG....

Wow.... even when people post about issues that DTG are known for, you STILL can't admit that things don't work correctly as they should.... You'd rather find any excuse to make it sound like they are the greatest Developers to ever create something...

Preston-Carlisle is a JustTrains route, don't blame DTG.

DTG provide testing, and push release dates. Nuff said....

Well, according to N Quarter everything is DTG's fault including the cost of living.

lol you made me laugh so much I almost split my sides. I guess you are so DTG obsessed that you have passed the point at which you are able to recognise irony.
The timings can be a bit off here and there but you'll definitely see it when two separate classes share the same service. A DB218 doesn't do well on services designed for electrics like the DB146.

If it was a class 87 on a rake of mkIII's it will be timed at 110mph. The 1S45 service is a rake of mkII's which has a max permitted speed of 100mph.

It's possible they may have used the slower coaches by mistake. No harm in contacting support just incase.

They're using correct rolling stock for that service because i used catch that service to Carlisle. The timings are timed at 110mph but there's a restriction of 100mph because it's 100mph stock.

There is no irony in me stating that you try and make them look like the greatest Developers to ever walk the Earth.

I struggle to see what would make me obsessed... I no longer defend them [because they have offered nothing to defend for many years], and I rarely even play the Game..

-shrug-

I would say that is obsession.

Nope, not in the slightest, hence why you never really explain how so, you just make extremely weak comments with no backbone. Don't you have something better to do? Lol.

Yes you are so correct. I paid many visits to the North West and Glasgow during this period and only arrived on time on the odd occasion. It is probably the main reason why you couldn't get a seat on the Heathrow-Manchester flight for love nor money.

The biggest irony was I thought it would get better when it went private.

[note to N Quarter - nothing to see here, history lesson no mention of DTG]

Implying that I would attack you if you mentioned DTG are we??? Hmmm, someone likes to throw around petty misleading information huh.
