The entire game would have to be rebuilt from scratch, you can not just create MP and plug it into TSW. Co-op would have been nice but again, not happening because the game would need a complete rebuild. Too many man-hours to do so and worth the money to do it now.
(The official video from DTG was deleted some time after release to wipe any promises which were made before release but a reaction video is still online)
But (like you) I doubt that TSW will be capable of MP, I've written that also in that thread.
Why? There's nothing to win. Only you can be on each section of track (unlike convoys in ATS/ETS) and if you are behind someone who needs a looooong bio break in the section in front you will only complain about red light issues.
Unless the Devs want to do it in their free time and rebuild each of the many routes to work with MP, the sheer Time Involved in doing it, is the #1 reason why it will not happen, and I don't believe they would know how to. Not to mention the $$$ needed to build the infrastructure to support MP 24/7/365. The short of it is empty promises...
So far, nobody has actually provided any convincing arguments of why this is the most imperative play style in train simulations that must be provided.
Please do not get me started with ETS/ATS MP as a case in point, as I already tried that and am back exclusively soloing.
and too much complications
Whole train industry in the world is designed for trains to interact with each other as little as possible to ensure smooth operations
If you want to see how 'meh' MP in trains is just play SimRail
