Route hopping.
Fast Travel.
Photo Mode has added features like adding weather to the screenshot, and changing month and year time of day.
Select routes/scenarios have conductor mode.
The 2D map now has Signal info & direction of said signal and the 2D tracks now have names.
2d map It's Purple. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A handful of new routes and trains.
KINZIGTALBAHN DB BR 411 ICE-T
WEST COAST MAIN LINE of the Northwestern Class 350
West Coast Class 390 Pendolino
Flix/BR 193 variant and BR 114 + Dostos
MP36 San Bernadino Was Slated for TSW4.
Many changes to the training center some pretty good, some not so.
The LZB training is much better than the older one in TSW3 that is in TSW4
---
I don't believe all of the above warranted a new game nor the Cost of $120.00 Special and $75.00 Deluxe as of now. This all could have been incorporated into TSW4. DTG even came out and said that the "FREE starter Pak" is simply to get more people into TSW, it's a ploy to get people to spend $$$ I give them credit for admitting that outright.
Everything that is broken in TSW4 is Left that way so anyone who does not want TSW5 is stuck with broken routes/scenarios, and some that are broken go back to TSW2.
All TSW4 mods work in TSW5 very few have changed, and only to include a couple of the new trains, I even have a TSW3 mod in TSW5 and it seems to be working.
All the broken and Screwed up routes from TSW2, 3, and 4 have transferred over to TSW5.
Case in point.

That's why it's always advisable to avoid jumping to new software releases right away once these become available; this is the typical “wait and see” as with every yearly iOS release: let's check users reception and feedback, and postpone a few weeks the purchase/upgrade decision, to decide from there prior to open the wallet.
Personally, I still see the SAME issues: identical graphical glitches, same graphical design (I was expecting something a bit more realistic, finally!!!!), same glitch when using the horn, same weird acting of the personas at the station, or when boarding the trains, or just even walking.
¡¡¡¡¡ NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN THESE ASPECTS SINCE v3 (2022); this is really disrespectful to users and to our pockets!!!!!
These F***** deceived me last year: won't allow them to take me again for a fool once again! (this time, it would be my responsibility if they do it)
Nope...!
Please, allow me to disagree with you: IMHO, companies should always resolve current issues in their products, prior to add new features; avoiding it, is disrespectful to existing & new users, as all of them will continue using a defective product (gaming software in our case).
In this specific game, Dovetail decided to release a new (PAID!) software version without resolving existing graphics glitches and/or weird actions of the personas -at the station, boarding the trains, etc-.
They did the same in 2023, when comparing to 2022 version unresolved issues/known problems; won't allow them to deceive me again this time.
No issues with your opinion, expect you'll accept mine :)
As told to other users above, I accept your impression but disagree with this POV; to avoid repeating myself, invite you to read prior messages.
The point of view is that broken routes keep coming from one TSW release to the next, and or what is left broken in prior iterations is left as is and those who choose not to get TSW5 are left holding the bag with broken content. And some go back to TSW1/2020
I invite you to read through the troubleshooting thread on DTG Forums.

DTG simply don't believe in Quality products. They just want their quick buck churning out content containing issues we've been reporting for literally years without any care to even consider looking into it.
"Oops times up, let's move onto the next project never to look back ever again."
It's ALMOST as pathetic as their "Bug Squashing Team" attempt back in 2015 in TS20xx... what an absolute failure that was and just showed how little they actually cared to fix their Content.
Welcome to DTG Land though, we all secretly hold a secret fetish for Bugs.
It's appreciated.
For all those that have genuine complaints;official forum please.
It's not the first time stuff hasn't been right fair enough, your voices aren't heard here, with the odd exception.
If you want change, join the voices on there.
Im primarily Picking on UK routes as thats what i drive
they should stop making content as a whole, having fell for the trap every year and bought every game im finally starting to had enough of the pure laziness of this company to the point where its affected 3rd party developers. Having Looked at the new route map it all looked interesting.
then you see that the ATS Manchester route is just using ANOTHER 323, LAZY and BORING why not TRY to get a licence for a 185 or 195, not to mention the layers will be bare bones, just like birmingham new street still missing the 350 and 390.
Then we have JT, Dont get me wrong i like there stuff, i thought the blackpool route was good even though i would like to see a modern day version, but that brings me onto their new Preston-Carlisle (Again would prefer a modern era personlly) But again set in the 80s just to RE USE the 08,47, 31 most likely 37 and all the other BR stuff, Sure we do get 1 new train but does that justify Re Using 6 existing locos instead of getting licence for a different era to bring new trains ie the 2000s.
Onto the Wales Cardiff Route. You just damn well know were getting a there going to RE USE the 158 for us to drive instead of adding a 175 or 197.
And as for the new locos, Getting a new 47 (RE USE) in a different livery with a name tag and just to layer it into the ECML that will cost £12. Why not a deltic class 55 something NEW that il pay for not just a RESKIN.
Plus what ever the new JT loco will be, Can 90% guarantee it will be a variant of what we already have.
Anyway thats my rant done.
It will happen.
