Have had same type of issue . in the end had to uninstall TWS from Steam then open file explorer on my pc and delete the TWS folder (if you have older Versions of TWS 2, 3 or 4
Do not delete these. ) Just the TWS5 folders . then reinstall TWS5 Thats what i Had to do after a week trying it sort it out) had to suck it up and start from scratch. someone else may have a quicker way.

with these new games these day they are written in code as with old games . so if you have an older system PC even 2 years old. Code ??? make sure your Motherboard has the latest BIOS (code) installed. and your CPU code ether CPU with built in graphic or standalone CPU make shore you have the latest CPU Firmware installed. Make sure you have the latest Graphic Card Driver and Software . Motherboard: CPU ; Graphic Card manufactures. update the Codes for there devices regularly. so you need to keep on top. your error will have to do with Code.

You normally should try this:

- Uninstall all mods
- Remove all engine.ini settings you added
- Make sure to fully update Windows
- Make sure to fully update the drives for the graphics card
- Check if your computer meets the minimum requirements for TSW
- Make sure to have some room on your harddisks
- Verify the game cache
- Restart your computer

If this does not work, you may have another issue with your computer. It is very unlikely the game causes the issue

Did you edit the engine . ini? {you can safely delete the ini files after backing them up, the game will recreate them} Have you tried to verify the game files with Steam? With the last update prior to the release of the new DLC from JT, I wanted to verify the game files, and one file could not be verified. Steam reacquired the file, and I re-verified it again, and all is good.
Any files here that have been edited and any errors in them will cause issues,
C:\Users\ [your name here] \Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Also, have you changed your AV, Windows Defender, and the firewall will also cause issues, along with Windows UAC, if the game can't connect to the internet and to DTG it could cause issues, you can try giving the game Admin Rights.

I have had issues with the unreal engine crashing on Peninsular Corridor and I play in Linux. This is the only route I have this problem with and I seemed to have resolve it by unloading the three dlc's and only loading back the route less the MP36 and MP15 dlc's

And you have no mods or ini edits, well there is an issue with the two DLCs in TSW3, 4 and 5 where one has to be uninstalled to do other services, and vice versa to do other services. The two DLCs don't play nice together. But mostly I can run those two DLCs with issues except for some services.

I play in Linux through Steam and I have no mods, no ini's, no nothing but Steam Proton (version 9.0) and Vulkan shaders

Ah okay, I don't know Linux excuse my lack of knowledge.

Neither did I before I dumped windows.
My version of Linux doesn't look much different than windows and I play most native windows games through Steam.
Logitec controllers work fine on the PC such as the wheel and pedals when I play ETS2, so I am happy.

And that is what matters, you are happy, not a fan of current Windows, but it's easy for me at this stage in my gaming life :) but I may just look at an easy Linux to use, if that makes sense 😁
