How to play against all 3 monsters at once? (Extended Settings Mod)
I just downloaded the Extended Settings mod for Monstrum and I'm wanting to use it to play against all three of the monsters at the same time - the Brute, the Hunter, and the Fiend, one of each monster. I know that I have to change something in the "modSettings" text document in order to do this (like changing the numbered value of something), but I don't know what to change. I tried setting the number under "Number of Random Monsters" from 0 to 3, but that didn't do anything. Can anyone help me out with this, please?

Those settings were already like that, and I didn't touch them. The only one I tweaked was the "Number of Random Monsters" option; I left the number of each individual monsters as it was.

DId you install it correctly via Partiality? There is a whole readme inside the ZIP which explains how to install the mod and there is a YT video that shows step by step how to install the mod. If you've done everything correctly you should get a screen "Monstrum Extended Settings v2.2 Active" when loading into a round.

If anything else fails you can join the official Junkfish Discord (https://discord.gg/junkfish) and we can help you out further in the #monstrum-modded section. There you can also find newer indev versions from Precipitator (the creator of the mod) that have more features available.

edit: Don't know if that is the case but if you want to have one of each monster you would need to set the random monsters to 0 and then 1 on each of them to get all 3.

When I got the ZIP file, I had taken a look at the ReadMe and I followed the installation instructions exactly. As clear as I could understand them, at least.

I found that in the provided folder in the ZIP called "Monstrum Extended Settings Mod V2.2", there was a folder labelled "Mods", and the mod for the game was in there. When Partiality was opened, a few folders were made in the Monstrum directive folder, one labelled "Mods", and I needed to take the mod out of the Mods folder from the "Monstrum Extended Settings Mod V2.2" folder, and then place it in the Mods folder that was in the Monstrum directive folder. The ReadMe didn't specify to do that, but once I did it, Partiality registered the mod in its listings and I could check the little box to enable it and then click "Apply Mods".

No matter what numbered values I tinker with in the modSettings text document, though, it never says "Monstrum Extended Settings v2.2 Active" when I start a new round.

Also, in the edit you made to your comment, you're talking about the settings that read like this, right?:

Number of Random Monsters - Default = 1
0
Number of Brutes - Default = 0
1
Number of Hunters - Default = 0
1
Number of Fiends - Default = 0
1

This is what it said before I edited anything, when I first opened the text document. By setting the "random monsters to 0 and then 1 on each of them", I assume you mean changing the default values, with the one for Number of Random Monsters being "0" and the ones for each monster being "1". Because if you mean the numbers UNDERNEATH the text, well, they were already set to be what you described. I tried changing their default values to what you suggested, and it still didn't work.

The Default values only tell you what they are when you do not have any modifications active. So you always have to change is the value below.
But since you do not get the information that the mod is active there seems to be a problem with the installation.
I'd suggest you reinstall the mod and redownload at least the .txt file. If you do one space somewhere in between the mod settings it might break because it reads the settings in the wrong order.
If that doesn't help please join the Discord, there we can help you out better than here on the steam forums :)

Okay, I'll try reinstalling the mod. In the video tutorial for how to install it (the only one that exists, the one in German), the guy in the video used the 2.0 version. Should I download that version, or does the tutorial work for the 2.2 version as well?

If reinstalling it doesn't help, then I'll ask the Discord for assistance.

EDIT: Okay, never mind, reinstalling it worked! The guy in the tutorial did it slightly differently than I did, so I watched the video and followed the instructions in the video as he/she did them. I left the modSettings text document as it was, and it worked! I got into the game and I saw the Brute, got my flashlight flickering a couple minutes later, and then heard the Hunter moving through the vents. All three monsters are now here. Thanks for the help!

Yes, version number doesn't really matter. You just need the correct modsettings.txt as newer versions have more features thus a different layout in the text document. The installation process is still the same and the document also stays the same on how to change mod settings.

The crucial part is editing the right values and not messing up the sequence.

(Just to let you know: The newest version also features a Local coop mode where you can play with a friend and one can control the monster, many other features including some challenging modes, old items like the compass and walkie talkies, different level generation [can really mess with game] and other stuff. If you're interested you can join the official Discord and mess around with all those settings.)
