Help: Am I searching right?
Hi,

So I'm determined to beat this game, I'm just struggling with the ship layout. I understand its all procedurally generated, but in general it all follows the same rules.

My process is: Check decks 5-8, every room, then go down to 3&4 on the same side of the ship and check there. Then go across the ship to deck 3 on the other side and check there.

This is where I get stuck, because I can't get my head around decks 1&2, thet just seem to be long corridors that only lead to the cargo hold, which is an absolute maze to me. Do items ever spawn on the cargo containers? And are there any other rooms etc that I'm completely missing where items might spawn?

Thanks

Update: I've just discovered the engine room and phone rooms, I'm guessing these are major spawn locations for mission items. Anything else I'm overlooking?

Ok I can't get the monster to answer any of the phones at all? He's not coming no matter what I do?

Heya, yes, the cargo holds do have items, the pump, the sub headlights, bolt cutters and gas cans may also spawn in them.
The monsters will destroy the phones after a while but they may be too far away to notice them or need a while to get there. Once you put a fuse into the one in the upper engine rooms they will come to destroy the other phones if called.
Each number corresponds to a different room in the engine rooms.
Regarding deck 1&2: Rooms may spawn there but not as many as on 3 and 4. Sometimes there may be only 1-5 rooms or none at all. Usually there are some though, often behind some corridors.

Thank you! I think I've finally gotten the hang of it, although I had to keep luring the hunter into the engine room with the radio. He wouldn't come in by himself, I had to guide him down.. not sure if that was a bug.

The hunter will go back into the vents after a while, it can spawn down in the engine room depending on its layout though, maybe you just had bad luck
