I would not be writing here, if I knew that it will work always.
ePSXe is an emulator, and these are often finicky.
Are you using the recommended plug-ins as recommended on the ePSXe Virtual Controller download page? Those plug-ins are this one here [sourceforge.net] and here[www.pbernert.com]?
You may need to look into other plug-ins if you are using those and they are not working for you. What resolution are you currently using? Unresponsive buttons are often a resolution issue. Try changing, or locking in your device's native resolution in the game and in the emulator's settings.
If we can have more information about the device you're using, as well as any more information you have so that we can try and replicate the issue, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
My system is:
Tablet Acer Iconia W4
Windows 8.1 Single language (Russian)
Intel Atom Z3740
2gb RAM
ePSXe v. 1.9.0:
Video plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Sound plugin: ePSXe SPU core 1.9.0
GWG preset: https://gameplay.gestureworks.com/virtual_controllers/7592-psx
But now i do my own preset and it working.
Earlier i use Razer Cortex (game booster) to clear RAM before starting the game, but sometimes when i use this program the virtual buttons don't work. But i think that was coincidence, cause it was work with this program too. I think the problem not in this.
Latest version of Steam and GWG.
Three different images of the Gran Turismo 1.
What more information can i give?
Now all is working (with no lags) and i can play as in native psx resolution, and otherwise in max settings with filters, anti-aliasing, hi-res textures, and all what i can turn on.
But when it don't working nothing can help. Changing resolutions (from 320x240 to max desktop resolution), plugins (Pete's or P.E.Op.s), plugin settings (set it to minimum or max), game images, reboot the system has no result.
Thank you very much for fast reaction!
Thanks for all of the info, it's very helpful. As for more, if anything else comes to mind that'd be good, but you've covered all of the tech bases, so we're pretty good there.
I ran ePSXe using the same plug-ins as you're using, and playing Gran Turismo 1. I tried several times, but couldn't seem to replicate the issues you've been running into. Judging by your own reports, this issue seems to come and go. I'll look into it some more tomorrow, including trying some other devices to see if I can maybe identify a common issue.
This may be something that is hard to pin down.
Have you used Gameplay with any other games? Has everything been working fine there?
Thanks for your patience.
BUT when i connect the mouse through otg all lags was gone, and gwg working perfectly. no bug keypress, no delay when pressing key.
but gwg in ePSXe now is not working again.
We've been looking more into your problem.
We would suggest not running Razer Cortex at the same time as Gameplay. It is possible that this program is what is causing the problems, so uninstalling it and seeing if your situation changes might be a good idea.
You can also try a clean install of Gameplay.
Also keep in mind the hardware limitations of your tablet, and avoid running any unnecessary programs in the background when you're playing games.
For ePSXe, examine your settings individually, and don't change more than one thing at a time when adjusting the video configuration. Try starting with the default configuration, and experiment with things from there.
Thanks!
Thank you, but I was trying all off this earlier.
Cortex is off.
No processes is running. Only steam and gwg.
I was changing settings individually and find the best without lags, but it changes nothing in my problem.
I will try do a clean install of Gameplay. Hope this will help, but I think that it's not.
No more variants what it can be?
At this point I would suggest submitting a bug report. You can find out how to do that here.
We will take a look at your logs and other information to try and pinpoint the issue. Thanks!
