But I was playing on the default difficulty, and I'm sure if I kept exploring and attacking that brick wall, I'd eventually make it through, and I sometimes really want to do that, because up until I got frustrated with that, I was definitely having a wonderful time. The story is quite well told from what I could gather, and I loved the character development and isometric exploration.
Old school is the way to go here. Save before you do anything and then reload reload reload until the rolls favour you. I played and finished wiz 8 a couple of times and world of xeen so i do enjoy this sort of thing. I dont enjoy the fake diffculty tho.
2 Ravens: Challenging
3 Raptors: Balanced
So apparently dinosaurs evolved into much more ferocious birds....
All in all on the veteran (default) difficulty I find the game really cheap and hard to enjoy. I am feeling constantly underleveled without any ability to grind because after like 4 encounters an area is "clear" and you stop getting into combat. Just keep reloading in hopes of actually defending an attack or two and living long enough to clear.
As said above save before and after everything, sadly this also makes it feel like a game of trial and error more than anything else. Maybe casual would be more fun... but pride wont let me select such a difficulty in games.
If I put the mouse over the actual enemy avatar and right-click (hold) it will show a challenge rating and the number (and type icons) for the grouping.
Good tip on right clicking the enemies on the road to see what they were thanks.
Wasn't that one of the tutorial messages.
Old school veteran is more challenging/frustrating though.
