Lords of Xulima
Best "Level Up" path for my party choice?
This game is so good! I just got it last night and had not even previously heard of it.

Therefore I don't know a lot about everything. I started with the default party just to get into the game, then I restarted and made my own but with no knowledge of what I am doing.

I ended up having Soldier / Thief / Barbarian (i think?) and then Mage, Cleric

Not sure if that was a good choice.

My question(s) are a) Is that a good enough party to go through a first time and b) if so what is the best level/upgrade progression for those classes? I leveled up only once but had no clue what stats to put.

Also wasn't sure about starting stats either.

I've read the thread about newbie tips but information is a bit spread all over the place so I thought maybe a more specific topic to myself might help.

Thanks in advance.

The "back way" is on the north side of the castle. Same bug on the left gate there too, btw. Not that it matters there, but still. You get hints for how to approach the back gate from the guy that you run into when you first enter Nabros (If you pay him gold).

You might want to try spending some gold at the inn keepers for rumours. They're very cheap, at least on normal, and a lot of the rumours are actually quite useful hints and tips (You get hints for Golden Forest and the spore area for example, which people seem to have problems with). Some rumours might even point out to a treasure that you could otherwise easily miss.
Spoiler:

Once you kill the prince, all of the guards run away, so you can leave however you want.
The "thief" you speak to when you enter that area tells you how to get to the secret area. It should still be in your journal notes. TLDR: explore till you find guards that are killable.

You can pass through the forest. Just look for the "Popies", and avoid them (Wizard of Oz).

I don't know how I missed that..lol..I feel stupid. I think I am still jaded and worn out from 120 hours of Dragon Age Inquisition.

I found it, cleared out the castle and also the Temple of Frebret (except the guardian guy)

Doing much better now.
