Temple of Febret and the Cursed Guardian
I attempted to fight the Cursed Guardian, it was Dangerous against my level 13 Party - I had no chance of defeating it, so I went and purified the Well of Souls and now it's gone.

I was hoping I could come back later on and attempt to fight it again.

Could I possibly continue on with the game without purifying the Well now? So that I can defeat the Guardian when I'm high enough level.

How did you purify the well? I'm past that and have cleared a few temples but didn't know of a way to even purify them. I didn't think you even had the chance of doing that without defeating the guardian though.

When you interact with the well, it asks if you want to throw in an item - throw in a Tear of Nalaet and that will purify it.

That also answers my question, thanks :)

Is there reward for killing that Guardian besides the deed itself and do the other Temples contain similar high level monsters like the Guardian of Febret?

I like following the advice of the Amulet of Golot and I need to to purify the Well in order to get subsequent hints, I'm just wondering how worthwhile it would be for me to sacrifice that in order to slay the Guardians.

Thanks.

I don't know if there is a reward because I never killed it, and as far as I've seen, no there is notihng else like him in the other temples.

I purified the well too, so I didn't get a chance to kill the guardian.
Iirc, the guardian is comparable to the earth guardians the imps turn into when attacked. I would say you should be around lvl 35 on classic difficulty to safely tackle it.
Would be interested in knowing if it is worth to kill the Cursed Guardian...

Killed him at lvl 23 (300% difficulty), he droped 2800 exp and 19 herbs. Golot value is unknown )

Yeah, you will also have the opportunity to kill two Cursed Guardians in the Temple of Valvet. They are actually a bit easier than the normal Earth Guardians (Imps turn into them when attacked).
Afaik, There aren't any more Cursed Guardians in the game other than in the two temples.

So, how do you kill it? It can't be stunned or bleed. Weapons don't wound it. You can cause wounds by magic, but it doesn't seem to become weaker when wounded. My party managed to cause 9 wounds to it before everyone died.

I've killed him with low lvl mage AoE fire spell. Just drink mana potions and stack burn damage, while tanking with priest. Also as I remember this creature may cure wounds.

I tried the same thing and it didn't interact with me either. Someone said the nalaet's tears were needed but I have no idea how to use them there, I just did the remove gas scroll and still nothing happened after clearing it. Bugged?

It can't be stunned or bled, but it *can* be burned and frozen. A mage is critical here - stack Burn damage, Freeze him before his turn comes for another shot, and stack as many evasion buffs as you can. Defense buffs won't be that useful beyond preventing a one-shot - his attacks are just too powerful. Every successful hit he gets gives about 7 wounds, a 2 second stun, and a potential curse that reduces all resistances by 30, in addition to more pure damage than any other enemy you're likely to have encountered. In the hardest difficulty, it also has 5,000 HP and basically takes half the damage you do to normal mobs due to its obscene defense.

Good luck!:p
