Object identifaction and object evaluation
What is the differences? I'm guessing object ID tells you what the item does? and Object evaluation tells you the value? If so, does this mean i only really need object ident if i only care about what it does?

thanks in advance

ID tells what the item is, and it's stats, exactly. Otherwise you will need to pay a Vender to ID it fo you.

If one of your party cannot evulate the items worth you get a ? where the worth value is. However a merchant will show what that item is worth.

do you have to pay the merchant to find out its worth? if not, why would anyone ever get object evaluation?

No payment required after an item has been identified to find out its worth. But you will only see an items worth that is evaluated this way at the merchant's shop.
So if you are exploring and you get another item and you dont know wheter to discard it for sale value or the keep the ? item then that would be the only time I think the evualation skill would come in handy.

The vender knows what the items is. You have no idea. He is going to give you a fraction of what it's worth. And worse, if it's an item one of your team could have really used, your going to have to buy it back at full price if you really want it.
