What kind of items better buy for dropping into Well of Souls and is it worth mess with it on first play

Torch gives 10 xp, while ring that cost near 60 gives only 18xp.
Dropped some items got like 100xp total, not a big deal actually.
My group consist from 12-13 level chars, but most encounters already puny or easy for me.
Got extra 1-2 levels for killling all guards on Nabros road before killing prince.
Cleared ogre and big mushrooms without any problem with speed boost. Cleared Sorrentia, just got Nalaet tears.
Fight with boss in Melacholy tower was like child play for me. However can't win ice archer on arena (got zero items with cold resistance).
Anyway I feel overpowered already, is Well of Souls, really worth it?

Any item gives its gold value/10 in XP. So it doesn't really matter.
