Object evaluation
I finally found a use for this skill! The mage eventually learns a spell called "matter to gold" which exchanges any item for gold. You need to be able to identify to the items price however in order to do this.

I think you mean "Object Evaluation" but that is good to know, I have been ignoring that skill.

How much gold do you get compared to selling an item at a shop when using the Matter to Gold skill?

Matter of gold gives 20% at level 1 and 50% at max level 5. I don't think it's that great but I guess it's a good option for party compositions that lack a bard with Mercantilism. Other characters can also get Mercantilism but it's more costly to level.
