Lords of Xulima
Soldier's Weapon types + Skills
Quick question:

If I have my soldier use a sword that causes a chance of bleed when hitting, and have him do the Bleeding strike special he has, will that cause more bleeding (if both skill and sword hit) or does it only count for the skill?

I have my soldier use a sword for the bleed, and want to know if it's woth getting the smae kind of special or something different if it doesn't stack.

bleed is sort of an STRICTLY inferior effect to both stun and wounds . It doesn't HINDER AT ALL the affected enemy until he dies. It doesn't lower incoming damage until the target dies. It doesn't make it easier to hit him with subsequent attacks. (stun gives 100% hit chance vs stunned target, enough wounds will eventually do the same due to evasion sapping..).

With that in mind and with the fact that soldiers have the cheapest cost on learning weapon skills - best weapon skill for a soldier should you chose to bring a soldier is mace AND axe (mostly for targets immune to stuns) ..
(stun can allow to shutdown victim partially or completly, wounds does so eventually against melee attackers since it saps their attack score until they have 100% chance to miss all attacks. Beeing able to arbitrarly prolong fights is extremely valueable since it allows Clerics and Paladins with divine prayer to FULLY RESTORE party health and their own mana pool at the end of the combat saving the need for sleep/food/potions/gold .. all of which are limited resources)

And none of the bleed/stun/wound effects are chance based - they 100% apply on a succesful strike vs targets not immune to that effect - there is a bit of RNG and stat difference influencing HOW much of the effect will be applied.

Hell - you could probably give your soldier a third weapon skill sword (it will cost you skill points from other skills..) if you really wanted to use with bleeding strike against VERY FAST targets that must be killed ASAP (witches, the fast YUL avatar, etc ..) . But in those cases a thief with shurikens will be doing a lot more bleed anyway without much need of extra help ..

As to the original question : on weapon effect and effect from special attack will stack additively ..
