Anyone got mods to work on the GOG version?

Topic. Asking here, because the GOG forum seems dead.
I decided to give LOX another try using the Streamlined mod and DLed it from their homepage http://www.numantiangames.com/mods/ since I can't use the workshop obviously.
Problem is I can't activate it. After starting LOX I find it in the ModManager, then try to activate it, upon which LOX responds that it needs to restart to activate it. Unfortunately after restarting the mod isn't active. Same result when trying several time, every time it accepts the mod and wants to restart only for the mod to not work after.
I also tried to the no food mod, just to test, same result. Mods are found but wont activate.

Chk the gog forums, there's a post there that already explains how to get it to work.

Basically you have to open the mod with the editor then save and validate. When it throws up an error, you go change the mod folder name to the path indicated in the error message.

However do not do step 7, the part about renaming it back. You need to keep the folder renamed to the one with gibberish at the end, otherwise it'll stop working again despire having validated and saved it.
