Lords of Xulima Deepest Dark mod

Finished it. Whoever made this mod loves game as much as developers do :) With it game is well-balanced and much more fun if you like challenge than usual LoX (original LoX hardcore difficulty is easy).

Was most fun, during whole run i doubted that i would finish it. In vanilla LoX you are guaranteed to win all combats as long as you dont pick skills/spells/stats at random with no strategy in mind.

Waiting for LoX 2 now.

It feels so good to be back in LoX. Gonna try it with DD now. Glad the company behind it is doing well with that new game they are creating atm. Let's hope for a Lox 2 one day indeed.

Don't try Deepest Dark as a no saves run (since it's supposed to reward this) - was halfways through the game when we had a short power outage.... *cry*

I am now finishing the game with this mod on the highest difficulty of one character, which is the most interesting and the most difficult. With the mod is very difficult, but real.

can someone tell me what triggers the appearance of cursed hounds ? I just barely defeated a pack of 3 with a party level of 5, and the moment I try to reach a new area sorrentia(sp?) I got attacked by another pack of 3

is it time based ie every 5 days or whatever ?

I think it is time based.

I.e. the more you use rest, the more you get attacked.

You also get attacked only at night. And in wood areas.

Almost all triggers such as hounds that seem to occur periodically are set to happen based on variables (that can be adjusted in game editor) after a required amount of movement. So basically, if you waste a lot of time exploring you will end up fighting more hounds.

Kirill since you finished can you gimme some suggestion ? I am stuck at second prince castle and I am lvl 26. When I go against elite guards , especially elite bards and archers goes three times before I can act and I don’t get a turn at all. My team spd is 46-55 without spd buff and I took a lot of spd equip. I also try ulnahulum guardian and he destroy me since he immune to cc wounds and dots and his wounding dmg is super high and my lone cleric can’t mend wounds and heal in time . I even used pots. He just destroy me. Not enough dmg to dips since he also regen.... I am stuck atm and losing fun to play. Thanks for advice

I had full mage team, so i just spammed only spell he took dmg from - hammer of the destroyer. As for guards, i used Blizzard - it damages everyone on screen AND have 30% chance to also freeze them.

But you can do guards with bard, with sleeping song (they need to fail mental resist checks though, archers would and sometimes even elite guard).

If enemies go 2-3 times, you need more SPD also. You know you can buy SPD item 3 times? It refresh after 2 days pass. Shop works like this: SPD item appears on list, you buy it, 2 days pass and it refresh, 2 more days pass and it refresh - and then full refresh (new items). Items that refresh are same, so you save game - then can skip time a bit and check all traders (use crystals to port), write down what items appear and then reload save. This way you know in advance when to buy SPD items (in theory you need all slots to be equiped with them).

Game is hard, maybe hardest - my second party (bard + barbarian team couldnt finish last boss) but still possible.

I advise restart and go with mages, i need check, i think i had 6 of them.

The game is difficult when you pass it the first two times. Then you begin to understand. In the end, I passed it twice in the mode of solo character - a cleric and a second time a palladin. This is really difficult. =)

I forgot to write that I always played on the latest level of difficulty with save only in the city. =)

You play on Deepest Dark mod?

slowly progressing. Especially bosses are nutcases eheh. What level did you reach by last boss kyrill?Game so but will get totally out of control?

In the classic game I played solo until the end of 2 times and finished at about level 150. With the mod played half the game to check whether this is real. Really, but harder.
