Pilgrim had potential — the kind of raw, gritty survival experience that could have carved out its own space. Instead, it’s become yet another cautionary tale of a game stuck in early access hell, wandering aimlessly with no map, no compass, and no real plan.

There’s just no direction here. Systems feel half-implemented, features are introduced and abandoned, and every patch seems like the developers are just throwing darts at a wall hoping something sticks. Survival mechanics are shallow, world-building is thin, and any sense of real progression or purpose fades about an hour in. You’re not surviving — you’re just stalling until boredom finishes you off.

Worse, updates move at a glacial pace, and when they finally arrive, they feel more like desperate flailing than focused development. One step forward, two steps sideways, and somehow three steps back. It's clear they don’t have a cohesive vision for what Pilgrim is supposed to be — and players are the ones paying for it.

At this point, Pilgrim isn’t early access. It’s permanent limbo — a half-finished promise that keeps getting dusted off, patched over, and paraded around like it’s progress.

Final Verdict:
Aimless, lifeless, and rotting in early access. Pilgrim isn’t a journey — it’s a dead end.

PLEASE PATCH THIS GAME!!!
We started playing it few months ago, it was a stable build. Now EVERYTHING is broken. It made for a few laughs, but it's literally impossible to progress. I'm talking about the big guy climbing on top of the cart and tagging along in the next stage of the game, people's corpses falling off the map, pure darkness when you spectate, unreasonably loud AND quiet mics somehow. The other bugs are mostly harmless but these I found in particular frustrating AF.

Otherwise the game has pretty fun mechanics. The mimic monster is one of my favorite things in one of those games.

I'm not sure why people are reviewing this game so negatively. The dev team is very obviously at most 2 people and it's seven usd. Yes it's been a while since an update has released, but it's not as if the price increased or there was any confirmed release date. The game is good, what there is of it! The people making this game are most definitely still working day jobs so please cut them a break good grief.
