PILGRIM

PILGRIM

Easy Pilgrim Exploitation. Start to Finish.
So, i decided to do the most boring, single play run through of the Pilgrim ever. Get from point A all the way to the end with just pushing the cart. No crystals, no treasure hunting, just walking non stop. I just wanted to see what happens and if there was other mechanics that would prevent you or give you a reason so stay in your cart and use the crystals as much as possible. . . . Well, pretty much nothing. They only threat is the giant but, you can can stop him pretty early on by just closing the gates, trapping him on the other side. After that, there isn't anything else that attacks the cart. You can push your cart all the way to the finsh line without stopping. Except to maybe save. I walked start to finish safety with no issues exsept for the gaint that would only attract on the full moon. . . Before you trap it behind the gate. And as long as you stay in the cart at the wheel, he don't do anything. Maybe brake your doors if you close them. He's not very threatening.

While doing this experiment, i also found out that the gaint doesn't start untill after you full pass the first merchant. I when through 3 full moons before passing the merchant and didn't see him once. After passing by the merchant, i noticed him pop in. Now, if anyone else has had a different experience and been attacked before then, please say so. Im curiosity to know. But other than the giant, there isn't anything else that attracts the cart.

Now, i know this is still early access and will probably have new mechanics (hopefully) in the further. I just wanted to put this out there for people to know and hope the developers put more reasons to dungeon dive, collecting money, and using crystals (besides the waggon going a little bit faster). Don't get me wrong, i still go dungeon crawling anyways because its fun in multi player. And, if you want more of a challenge, you can just leave the gates open (but some people think the giant stopping at the gate is gliched or scripted to happen. Aslo let us know if you'vetried this and ifbthe giant stays or follows). I just wish there was more of a point/goal besides reaching the city. What do you all think? What kinda things should they add or fix?

3 hours in and haven't seen the monster that chases you since passing the first gate. If just loops dungeon -> merchant -> dungeon -> merchant -> etc with no real risk or danger. They really need to keep the monster chasing you.

Games came into early access almost 6 months ago and it baffles me how the developer seemed to almost drop it entirely. Normally games sit in early access for several years before getting neglected but this one didn't even start to stand up.

It barely has a gameplay loop in the current state.

To be fair, if i recall correctly, the dev stated they had a lot going on outside of their control so updates would slow until the start of next year. There were a good amount of updates/bug fixes up until that announcement, and they said there's a big update in the works. It's also a solo dev, like lethal company. But I'm down to be a hopeless romantic in believing the dev will be back full force start of next year.
