Making lag/endurance runs bareable?
Hello all! Just wondering if there is any way to make the game run faster than the obvious things. (Turning off all the high and medium impact things in settings?)

I can handle about 2800 monsters before it starts lagging.

I usually cave from the torture at the 300th wave mark. @_@

How do you others do it? Is there some secret to passing the long lag filled wait time? (Get coffee, maybe?)

I'm sure that the answer is just "Turn all the settings down and that's all you can do" But i'm hoping against hope that maybe I'm missing something?

Several things:
- Turn all the settings down and that's all you can do to make the game lag as less as possible
- Do not get coffee too often - it will just make you run to the toiletet.
- Accept the lag - I call it DGM - Deep GemCraft Meditation
- Listen to audiobooks
- Get more monsters on screen to increase the lag for:
-- playing other games on your mobile
-- go to the toilet
-- go fishing

I usually accept the lag, gather more monsters, listen to audiobooks and play spider solitaire... Max monsters on screen: 120.000 (AG)...

I usually give in,and stop enraging/being as effective as possible, for sake of speed. A high wizard level is training in patience. @_@

In the next GC, enraging waves should - while staying the same rewarding - result in stronger monsters rather than more of them (adding a few, but not hundreds). It would solve this problem almost as old as the series.

I recall you were saying the same thing for CS too.
Yet we ended up with even bigger numbers of enemies and stats.

While that IS a solution,Here are some others I can suggest, maybe:

Only show the graphics of every nth monster on screen,so that when there are thousands, the amount shown is around 100-200? (Not sure if that would fix it,this could be a cpu thing and not a gpu thing)

Switch to something other than flash (I know it tends to have these large number lag issues). Perhaps C# would translate over well and lag less? I know this is the worst solution, but thought I'd mention it.

Thirdly...NEW GC!? I'm excited now! when when when!? I'm already playing this one to death! Can I suggest features? Can I see!? CAN I PLAY!? TAKE MY MONEY NOW.

I mean err...Yeah,less but stronger monsters. Yeah.

On a side note, wouldn't less monsters defeat the purpose of the chain hit gem even more?

@Ice I suspect displaying less monsters wouldn't help all that much, the problem is probably number of calculations. Of course you could do something similiar there and just group say each 50 monsters together and basically treat them as one big monster for the purpose of calculation except that chainhit multiplies the damage/effects and nothing much in the game would change.

But just producing less monsters probably makes more sense.

I am pretty sure the lag isn't caused by the graphics rendering, but by the hit code.

Try it out: 5000 monsters in a manafarm and then upgrade all gems in it at once. FPS will easily triple.

For each "hit" of each gem, GC most likely is going through all monsters and check if they are in range, and process the hit. Which takes time (MILLIONS of times per second in farm mode).

how about monster stacks

One tip to add, put managem right near monster spawn point, and then adjustive your killgem radius near managem. That should help some.

@Game in a Bottle, why isn't there any option to turn off black mist (from killing enemy, destroying beacon, gembombing) and turn off enemies ground shadow? I bet those are another thing adds up to lag.

I'm pretty sure that those effects are disabled when you use "Force minimum visual settings"
