Gem types: Mana and Armor gems likely will remain and probably also for Slow and Poison (on Christmas Tree). Red might become bloodbound (Icon looks like the BB icon in GC2 but rotated, might be other functions though). The 6th colour is probably Yellow but no guarantee on MD remaining as its gem special.
Spells: Freeze, Beam and Barrage are (currently) still here. Peter hinted new strike spells so Curse and WoE might get replaced (and which one is replaced will likely be plot-related, have to wait at least for title announcement or some story update).
Buildings: 2 new buildings, no idea what they can be so let's wait for further posts.
Other stuff: The gem inventory is much smaller so maybe it will be scrollable/has several pages. Mana system seems to be currently following GC2. 9x Speed is not here, which might be combined with the 3x Speed button. No info for enemy system.
I'll be waiting to play the next chapter, both casual and hardcore (though I seem to be more biased toward the the other extreme of hardcore now)
I am happy to read from Peter. I know next Gemcraft will be amazing.
I hope lags will be fixed with a lot of monsters on the battlefield.
Keep going Peter, i'll buy your game day one :)
Welp, 2018 is already looking up, even if the game doesn't arrive until 2019. (For reference, Chasing Shadows was released about two and a half years after Peter first posted a screenshot of that game.)
Looking forward to new Gemcraft!
but it seems like most of you skipped over an important part of the post.
"The game will be a Windows desktop title,"
now, this could just mean it will work like GC:CS does now, being basically flash in a fancy wrapper, but then there would most likely still be an armorgames release.
to me this sounds like an engine change, which happens to be the biggest inoperable tumor of an issue the series had so far. so hey, maybe no more lag?
