Cant play online with friends

Me and my friend recently bought mount your friends and we create a private match but when we press invite player it dosent do anything and also shift+tab dosent work and no matter how hard we tried we couldnt find any solution, does anyone know how to fix this?

Instead of inviting, you can have the other player join the game if that helps.

It sounds like you can't access the Steam overlay, which usually means when the game started it wasn't able to connect to Steam, though it's odd if both of you are having that problem. The main fix I've seen for people who have trouble with the game connecting to steam is simply restarting Steam before starting the game.

i uninstalled and reinstalled it and it worked fine, thanks for the help
