Crash reporting
If your game for some reason crashes, first off I'm sorry. Unfortunately as a solo indie dev I have limited resources to test and tried my best, but some things just sneak through when the masses get the game.

Secondly, PLEASE go to your Mount Your Friends directory in steam and send me a copy of a file that should be there called crashReport.txt to support@mountyourfriends.com. This file can help me track down why your game crashed and fix it as quickly as possible.

Also if this is a repeating bug, right click on your game and go into Properties/General/Set Launch Options and put "logging" into the text prompt. This will make it so when you run the game, it generates an activityLog.txt file that you can also send me that can help me narrow down the problem.

I want to fix issues as much as you want to play the game, so I'll try to clean things up as quickly as I can and hopefully keep in touch with you if I have a temporary workaround fix.

Sorry you feel that way Vessmir. Feel free to use the Steam refund system if your game doesn't work and you don't feel like trying to debug your system. The actual crash reports I get nowadays is actually fairly small and has almost always had to do with either old video card drivers, or a bad installation of the XNA framework (neither of which I have control over). The only possible solution to these particular problems on my end would be to move the entire game over to something like Monogame, which requires a lot of porting work as well as running the risk of creating new problems for older dedicated players. I try to support the game how I reasonably can as an individual through interactions like these, but do not dedicate the time I did when the game first came out, as a large part of my day is working on other, new projects.

Game will not start. Does not crash, but will not launch. The game appears in Background Process in Task Manager on Windows 10 (x64) and a window for the game opens, but nothing ever loads into the window. Tried uninstalling all redistibutables and the game itself to no avail. No crash log is generated. Please help.

Tried disabling Steam Overlay, no dice. Also tried launching as Admin, no dice. Nothing works, and I have combed this thread for a fix. None of them worked.

Do you know if you have Windows Media Player on your system? I can usually tell if a CrashReport is generated, but since it isn't being generated all I'm basing this on is when your activity log ended (at loading the music track). The game is supposed to turn off music if it can't find the player, but maybe there's an extra hitch going on which I don't know about. Sorry for the inconvenience :/
Loken.Cerberus 6 ENE 2016 a las 19:17
No worries, and yes I did check for windows media player. It is installed.
Loken.Cerberus 10 ENE 2016 a las 12:47
Still unable to get the game to work Think there is an issue with Windows 10 and XNA that we aren't seeing. Please let me know if you find anything out.

SOLVED: I fixed the problem by uninstalling any previous versions of frameworks under Programs and Features and did a fresh install of only the newest version

Hi! This is my crash report. I did not change anything on the system side... Maybe there has been an update of MYF? It was running fine before... I do not have Windows Media Plyaer installed (Win 7). Thanks for your help!

(Re)installing Media Player didn't help. Slightly annoyed by now...

Got it running. The gamepad emulator was the problem. Used the x360_emulator_302 (does not work), changed to the x360ce (works).
