Where is the black market?

Is it the giant mechanical guy who trades for ducks? Is there something there beside him? Is it something else we just haven't seen somehow?

We've been saving trash for hours and the entire lower half of the ship is filled and we're yet to see a black market or anything like it.

It took me a while to realize the Duck God(tm) is the Black Market, but yes, that's him! To get cleaner, you need to throw trash into the acid pool that the little ducks are swimming in at the giants feet.

As far as I know, throwing trash in there doesn't do anything other than get you the costume? But I'm assuming that the additional uses just haven't been added yet.

Friends & I were attempting this last night and it didn't seem to get us anything. Are they supposed to dissolve right then? Do you have to do it before any kind of duck trade, or after? Does it happen once you leave?

We kept trying a bunch of different things and nothing changed for the progress on the skin.
