Joyville 2

Joyville 2

Alright theory solving time 🤓👆
A lot of people are very confused about the chains of events this game brought upon and its bizarre ending. But i think ive got some things pieced together.

First of all, our sister is dead. She played with us at joyville when we were a KID. And its implied she died with the other kids and employees since we re literally returning for her while we re an adult. Its impossible for her to be alive.

However there are some interesting details here and there to note. First of all, we are being introduced to a mechanic that can literally TRANSFORM the environments and the characters themselves to how they used to be in the past. Which implies... this might be some time distorting or time travelling antic.

At the very end of the game, we open a door and see our little sister, but if we look at the right. We see the message "hello future me".

I think that door at the end is a legitimate time travelling door, which we activate with those strange chemicals we mixed in the previous room.

Our character must have somehow learned about these time travelling devices when they were still young, and while snooping around the facility hence the message "hello future me" at the end, which will likely be explained in a later chapter.

Our true objective is to literally GO BACK IN TIME to save our sister from dying, and we ve planned this ever since we were a kid. There. Theory solved. Waiting for joyville 3 to get more depth and explanations on these stuff.

I would say it came off as pretty obvious throughout the playthrough, but Lumina definitely confirmed that we are Harrison Vanderbilt. She has scrawled all over the walls in her region calling us as such, unless they're from a past time and it's a red herring. She is also legitimately angry at you and wants to kill you for more than just some fun cat-and-mouse play. Right before the chase she shouts at you about everything that you took away from her.

Through wall scrawl hints, she not only confirms that you're Harrison but that she's your sister: She mentions having played with you before, as well as asking if you even still believe in her and telling you to "cry for [her]. Just like old times." But the biggest certainly bit of evidence here is the bits of graffiti that read, "Always the little brother. Always in my shadow." and "Do you miss me, brother?"

I wonder if the graffiti scrawls during the other chase sequences give away who any of the others are? I was too focused on running to read most of them.

We re not playing as harison. Our character was literally playing at joyville when they were a little kid. And our sister was a kind girl who we re trying to save. Unlike harisons sister. Also none of the joyville characters recognise our character to be harison, we re just a random adult they ve never seen before or at least not recognise. Since they made all those scribbles you d think they d know who harison is. The scribblings on the walls are not refering to our character. They re just supposed to be references to harisons past and how the mascots have inherited negative traits of his personality and the bad people surounding him. They were there before our character arrived at joyville. The mascots do not have souls of deceased people inside them. They re just husks with personality traits from harisons past.
