Spending Tons of Minerals for Prisoner Cap... for 0.00669%?!
I’ve invested 5 levels into “Increase Prisoner Chance Cap by 0.005%” (currently at 5/50), which should raise the cap by 0.025% total. But my actual prisoner chance is only showing 0.00669%.

That’s barely above the base rate. Something doesn't add up — either the upgrade is doing next to nothing, or the scaling is broken beyond reason.

Can anyone confirm if this is working as intended?

It raises CAP. Not the chance itself. Your maximum cap without minerals is 0,5%. With minerals you can get it upto 0,75%. And I think there was another thing that enabled it to go upto 1% eventually.

Yeah, I get that it raises the cap, not the actual chance directly. But it still seems broken — I had 4 levels in it, did a Black Hole reset, and noticed my prisoner chance was only 0.0016%. Then I dropped one more point into it, and it immediately jumped to 0.0066%.

That doesn't sound like just a cap increase — looks like it's affecting the actual chance too, or something isn’t calculating correctly. Definitely feels off.

You just gained chance levels from somewhere at the same time. It does not raise the chance.

I thought that too at first, but nothing else changed — no new chance upgrades, no perks, nothing else added. I was watching it closely because the value looked suspiciously low.

The moment I put that one extra point into the cap upgrade, the prisoner chance jumped from 0.0016% to 0.0066% instantly. That’s not just a cap raise — that’s the actual value increasing. Unless there’s some hidden interaction I missed, it really seems like this upgrade is affecting more than just the cap.

Has anyone else seen the same behavior?

Since it’s still an early access game, I’m guessing it might just be a bug or something not calculating correctly behind the scenes. Hopefully the devs can take a look.

Maybe you changed Universe? Prisoners Chance cap is different in every Universe. Checked the code and its working as intended.
It shouldn't be prisoners chance cap that differs in different universes, it should be prisoners chance before capping, right? Going down with each higher universe but still the same cap. And the growing prisoners drop chance will eventually reach the cap in each universe.

Maybe! That very well might have been the case — I can’t say for sure. But the chance % did go up by the exact cap margin right after I put that point into it. Could just be a huge coincidence, but it definitely looked suspicious in the moment.

I assume thats what Soehnie meant.
Look at your gear bonus one of the bonuses affects prisoner chance.

What difficulty are you in? easy to normal causes a catastrophic drop in prisoner rescue chance.

Just to reiterate, the instant increase from ~0.0016% to ~0.0066% exactly matches the 0.005% cap boost granted by that one additional level of the “Increase Prisoner Chance Cap” upgrade.
I just thought I would mention it as it could have been a bug; my bad, I wasn’t fully clear on the original post of the variables.
It doesn’t matter though—dev Soehnle looked into it and didn’t think there was an issue anyway.
Hope that clarifies things!
