The thing 2 cancelled PS2 sequel to be possibly released and remastered?

At the end of the article :

Is there any news of this possibility? That would be awesome.

Really cool monster design. The torso scuttler is something where you can clearly see the Doom 3 influence, super cool.

A sequel to the thing would be amazing, I remember watching a youtube video like a decade ago, of cancelled thing 2 footage when it was in early development it looked very cool. I really hope some day they make an addition to this game.
