How much RNG is there in the game?
I've been playing the demo for a fair bit and one thing I noticed is that the overworld map in particular doesn't seem to change. Is this going to be a constant thing or is the plan to add random terrain generation like the dungeons?

Currently the overworld is basically fixed. Monsters may spawn slightly differently, and treasures are randomized, but the layout is the same.

Dungeons are randomized on each new game, but will be persistent for that character's entire run (unless there is a bug or some kind of corruption to the save files).

I do like the idea of a randomized overworld, but I'm not sure it would make the game better overall. I am willing to consider it though, as this is what Early Access is about.

The only fear I have is with the game, in particular the overworld becoming too routine through multiple playthroughs. I mean, I already found the secret weapons trader near the beginning. It was a pleasant surprise, but not one I can experience twice. It's up to you though really.

IMO, too much RNG devalues the experience. Some games take it way too far. It's nice to have unique and interesting differences each playthrough, but a static overworld sounds like a solid design decision.

I always say weighted RNG toward the winning potential so that it is not fully random but favors the player. If the whole world is RNG then it would be too much random exploration I think where you are always looking for small stuff, let alone stuff you need. If weighted toward some semblance of findable and repeatable that might work and have interesting variations.

Like Energist says have unique and interesting differences each playthrough would be interesting without a whole random setup...

mayhaps consider adding it as a TOGGLEABLE option in settings for people that want to do randomizer runs, always a fan of more options in games, aslo maybe and ironman mode and various other options that could make runs either harder or easier depending on what players want. sliders and toggleable options are ALWAYS a good thing in any game and more devs should embrace them. That being said im not sure how much work that would take nor am i a dev. Just offering ideas and feedback
is the game playable on steamdeck btw

I have a few players reporting that it does work on Steam Deck. There can be an audio issue, but the solution being reported is that you can set it to play in mono, and it works. The game engine prefers mono for audio, so I believe that is the source of the problem.

There is a bluesky post addressing this.
