Cannot get a FC SNES controller to work on my MacBook for the Co-Op.

I got a USB controller (Classic FC SNES), only the right button is able to control items in the menu. Once I get to the Co-Op option, my controller "A" does not select anything, and I cannot play Co-Op.
Is it an issue with the controller itself?

Can you play Co-Op only with an XBox controller?

I think you will definitely have a difficult time playing, as an SNES controller does not have a right analog stick, which is used to throw the bola.

Do I need to exchange the SNES with an XBox controller? Will that one work? I want to be sure before I buy the other one.

Yes, an XBox 360 controller is what we used and tested on primarily, but also a few other 3rd party controller types. You will need to download drivers to use it on the MacBook though.
