Two controllers?
Whe I saw that the player 2 controls were greyed out with my Xbox controller I assumed that if I plugged in a second controller it would see it and my wife and I could play together on 2 controllers. Guess that's not the case - I still need to press Y to switch characters. Any chance that will be fixed in the future?

Two Xbox controllers are working just fine for me and my sister.

I figured it out - you can't select the second controller until AFTER you've started a game and moved to co-op mode. I was trying to be proactive and set all the settings up before starting the game. :) Maybe adding the ability to set co-op mode in the option prior to starting a game would help.

This was a decision based on the way our game detects input as we developed across multiple platforms.

In a game that features co-op not allowing you to select co-op prior to starting the game is a major flaw, technical reasons aside.

Even if you DESIGNED it this way on purpose - DOCUMENTING the fact that you cannot select a second controller as part of the options screen itself until the game starts would also be highly recommended so that people like myself who are trying to set it up for 1/2 hour and are checking drivers and updating software don't waste their time before they've even begun to enjoy the game.

At the very least this deserves a FAQ entry.

I second the motion by Firefly. Also, can you allow different types of controllers to work? I'm trying to use a KB/Mouse for Player 1 and a X360 remote for Player 2. This would be extremely helpful, as I am a disabled gamer who can't play with tradition controllers, but my wife/friends can. Very disappointing I have to 'play alone' in Never Alone. :(

For Local Co-Op, you're able to use a Keyboard / Mouse, with one controller hooked up for Player 2. What specific controller are you using? Never Alone has full-controller support, if you're experiencing any type of issues with a specific controller, feel free to send an email to support@neveralonegame.com referencing this thread and your controller, etc. As for the input selections, they can be made in-game via OPTIONS -> SETTINGS -> INPUT SETTINGS -> select "PLAYER (X) CONTROL" -> Press any button on the device you want to use.

I played through the main game and DLC w/my 7yr old. Both she and I used Xbox controllers with no issue. All you have to do is (as mentioned above) pause the game and then select Co-Op mode.

I'm glad this explains what co-op controls would be like, thanks! :steamhappy:

Hi, I need some help. I'm trying to play the single player mode with an Xbox controller but every time I switch to the Fox, it jumps and crouches normally, but the D pad won't go right or left. This also happens when I add another controller, Xbox as well, to play the co-op mode. The D pad won't just work with the fox. Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to fix it? It's really annoying. By the way, It does work normally with a keyboard.
