No Sound

So I started the game today, and the game plays fine, but there is no sound. I thought it was just a matter of a computer issue, so I booted up a couple other games, and they worked fine. I checked to make sure nothing was muted, verified the install, restarted, reinstalled the game, still no sound.

Like I said, the game functions fine, but no sound, and I keep hearing about the great soundtrack. I'd hate to play through and not hear it. Any recommendations? I've got Windows 8.1 (and yes, I checked the Mixer to make sure the game wasn't muted or volume down).

Did you check the options menu within the game to make sure that the game audio is turned on?

(Press ESC, then OPTIONS, then make sure that the volume slider is all the way to the right.)

I had a similar issue once, to fix it I needed to check the savefile for a negative value (-1) and change it to 0, but since you said that the volume doesn't appear turned off in the game menu, I don't think it'll do the work... (still try it, though, hopefully it might)

(I'm on Win 8.1 too btw, so the problem must be coming from something else)

I'm having the same problem, I was actually on the last level, trying to get one of the last houses when the game just crashed randomly, I restarted it, now there's no sound. I tried everything, Ian pls help, :c
Edit: Ignore this, the in-game volume was all the way down. #lolimdumb

So I thought I'd give this game another try today, booted it up and got: Fatal Error: The Application lost the device context.

So I uninstalled, reinstalled, and after the controller unplug/replug, it functions fine, but I still have no sound.

Can I get any other support on this? I hear it has a lovely soundtrack and I feel like this game is really missing something without sound. I like to review every game I play and I don't feel like I can play/review this game adequately at this point.
