NIGHTMARE OPERATOR

NIGHTMARE OPERATOR

Inspired by Lost Property Control Organization?
I remember having seen the horror game concept by samidare being floated around for quite some time. Comparing it to the game several elements of presentation, storyline and plot seem staggeringly similar to his concept art.

Is it an intentional spiritual sendup to their series? Is the artist involved or credited at all? I'm not a big IP defender or whatnot but it does seem pretty obvious that the series is inspired by his works at least to some extent so I was interested in how the team is handling it.

Hope it doesn't lead to trouble, but I don't think "shooting monsters in a Tokyo survival horror game" is a copyrightable concept. Yes there are similarities in the monster design and environments, but:
1) LPCO takes place 50% in the "normal world", which doesn't seem to exist in nightmare operator
2) trailers suggest a more action horror approach, rather than survival horror like we see in LPCO
3) the game doesn't take place wholely in a school like LPCO seems to

YEEESSSS, I went mad looking the original art up. Should’ve just checked the discussions. Man, if only that was an actual game. Glad this is coming out though, satisfies the craving.
