Game's a little jittery / laggy ~(Solved)~
The FPS of the game feels like it's rapidly rising / dropping during action scenes. Especially around explosions.

Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Fullscreen
Operating System: Windows 7
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
RAM: 20 GB

TL;DR :

I had a few system updates and -one- graphic driver update missing.

Keep your system updated guys, it really does make a huge difference. ~w~;

We're always looking for ways to improve performance. Thanks for the rig stats!

Out of curiosity, is this on a laptop? Sometimes on a laptop you need to specify that a particular game should use the GPU and not the on-board CPU. Changing this to use the GPU will improve your performance. If that's not the case, I recommend turning off Lighting in the settings menu.

I'm on a desktop, tried turning the lighting off already, made it a bit better, but didn't entirely fix it.

I suppose I could try fiddling with the resolution or putting it in to windowed mode and see if any of that helps.

Honestly your rig should be having no trouble running the game, even during high action moments and large explosions.

What you're describing wouldn't be graphical, but CPU related. So perhaps you have some background processes hogging CPU? Lots of chrome tabs maybe?

I'm happy to keep troubleshooting. Hopefully this will help other folks too.

Opened up my Task manager to monitor the CPU, shut down all my background programs. Didn't seem to change anything. Usage averaged around %14 even with chrome open.

Something isn't adding up. Do you need a graphics driver update perhaps? Like I said earlier, your rig is definitely powerful enough to run the game with no hitches.

You could also try turning particles off in Settings too. Although I'm skeptical that will solve the underlying issue here.

Well, that's embarrassing. My automatic driver update logged out at some point and a few slipped under the rug.

Game's smooth as teflon now.

Thanks for the help, and sorry it ended up being something so trivial. ~w~;

HOORAY!!!

No worries. We're here to troubleshoot. Thanks for all the info, and it wasn't trivial. Hopefully another player having issues will see this thread and update their drivers and be good to go! I think I might edit this to SOLVED and pin it actually.

Thank you!

Actually Sparkle, you might have to edit the title. Would you mind putting a [Solved] next to it?

Sure thing~ nwn

Hey there. Facing similar issues here.

Core i5 6500, Win 7 64b, 16gb ram, gtx 1060, asus z170-a mobo. Drivers are up to date, yet no matter the settings, I get really poor performance (20 fps, game feels slow/choppy.)

Any suggestions?

Did you follow all the suggestions in the thread? Update your graphics drivers? Make sure your GPU is running for the game (if on a laptop)?

Yeah. Made a new thread, mentioned drivers are up to date etc. Forced through GPU too.
