This is the way I have it now.
Team training - Average (I change it every three months from conditioning, tactics, ball controll to cohesion.)
The slider in the middle - Low - (I think it's one notch up from the right, just so you have it for a day)
Rest - allow the team to rest after each game.
Match day prep - Whatever takes your fancy (though for youths I just leave it on the teamwork one, or whatever it's called, in the hope it increaseas their teamwork?)
Individual training intensity - Average
I have found this to be the happy medium as settings go for training and I found I had a lot less injuries. I used to have it set Team training low, Individual training high, as a matter of interest.
I have found that my players still progress just as well, as the main things for development in a player is game time No1, personality and media handling style (these little bits of information can tell you about their hidden stats, the most important for quick development in a player is profesionalism and ambition. go here if you want to read about it - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/307808-The-Ultimate-Personality-Media-Handling-Guide), Facilities and coaches.
I kid you not, I had an AMC with great potential, but his personality and media handling were woefull, I had him tutored by a resilient - media handling - evasive player.
In 8 months he has reached his potential!
