Shocking Goalkeepers
The match engine isn't the greatest I must admit but it is playable, however, the goalkeepers are just absolutely shocking. I mean it is laughable some of the mistakes that goes on in a match, not just my keeper but the opposition keeper as well. Don't know if this happens with a lot of people but to me SI need to sort this out as the keepers are just crap.

I actually saw a penalty save after 3 seasons of playing matches. I was amazed!! The end of the day SI will do absolute nitto as people will still buy it broke or not as its Football Manager. I've had most since 98/99 season. Its like all SI care about now is how much money they make when released regardless of how broke the game is. FM14 was unplayable and still the worst FM game ever. This seasons aint a million miles better either but at least i'm on it. If it carries on like this though I think it'll be next game or the one after and that will be it.

SI are basically EA and FIFA 15

Well that explains it. They need fix the crossing on FIFA 15 as well. The point i'm making is all they really need to do is fix the keeper from being laughable in goal then the game would be good, oh and fix media handling sacking potential also but thats another topic. I had a goal conceeded the other day when the opposition headed it into the box and it went past everyone and went straight to the keeper along the floor, the keeper then moves to the right a bit and then goes to scoop the ball up which is now nowhere near him and rolls straight in, I absolutely pyssed myself laughing it was that bad.

ive noticed it as well. it differs a lot. and also ive seen some of the most crazy own goals passing by. mistakes from the keeper, but also defenders who ramm the ball in their own goal from outside the penaltybox :S

Buy yourself Jeronimo Rulii and boom, issues gone :P

Seriously though I think its more an issue of balancing the stats between lower quality and higher quality players which has always been abit of an issue in fm15 if you ask me. In real life someone with below 15 stats in goalkeeping can still catch and save a ball, being a professional player and all..however the game exadurates this so you feel the immediate benefit of an expensive player.

Well I won't see a great keeper for a while then as i start low and build my way up. It's daft though.

Sometimes the goalkeepers are really good. But sometimes as you said they are shocking, that'll be one step to making the match engine more viable as an option

injuries and players complaining seem to be a bugger for me aswell as the match issues mentioned

The goalkeepers to me come out at terrible times even during corners for me at least the goalkeeper every once in a whle just charges out for no reason and lets what would have been an easy just go right by him.

When I check the League tables for my last 3 seasons....

Man utd, Man City, Arsenal let in 45 plus Goals in seasons which is unrealistic compare to real life !

There are some very good keepers in the game, especially in the German league.

Benaglio and Leno have literally saved my careers many times.

the best value keeper you can buy from the start for under a mill is Khune, guy is a beast S Africa captain.
