Does Age Factor In ther Performence
I alway try to have a good solid young core of players in all my teams, however im wondering if the old age question of, you have to have some experiance in the team actually matters in the game? does having older, perhaps not as talented players help by the experiance alone??

Also can you affect the Attribtes like Inconsistent Performer, doesnt feel comfterble in big matches etc etc, because im sure ive seen some o these come and go, especilly Injuy prone??

For the first question I don't believe it matters. More experienced players haven't really made a difference that I've noticed. The important point is a player's ability to get along well with others and that works at any age. Do they fit into the squad or are they having difficulty getting along with others. That's usually one of the most important stats for squad cohesion and to ensure the squad plays up to it's potential as a unit.

To the second question? I don't know but I doubt it. The manual mentions those traits but has no mention of those traits changing over time. I guess it's possible but it seems unlikely. Usually once those traits are set they're set for good. The prone to injuries is one that I've never seen change. I've got one player who's had that trait for 4 years. I would think if it was going to change it would have done so by now. I'll have to look back though some of the saves though and see if any has disappeared. Maybe they do.
Hmmm if thats the case thats kinda annoying, id hoped age would factor in, as now its almost as if whats the point in buying experianced players over younger ones, especilly since older players are usually not as good, but the only advantage would be there experiance over the younger ones.

as for traits im hoping they change, im sure ive seen them change but aybe thats just different coach reports who aint as good as others and dont pick up on it, but again i hope it is a feature because it would be dynamic

Yeah, more experienced players being on a team should count for something but I haven't noticed a difference. Never seen it mentioned in any manuals either and I haven't noticed anything in terms of better team productivity with more older players.

And you're right about different scouts (on the same team) having different opinions on a player. There's a big difference in that regard. Also, the longer a player is on your team the longer your scouts have to gauge their abilities (and traits). It will sometimes take half a season before you get a correct read on players you've signed. That's why I uaually scout a player I'm interested in signing for 2-3 months first and.I generally use my best scout to do that. That's a good way to help prevent signing a bad player and even that's not perfect.

The old rule of thumb was that any player (apart from GK) over 32 just declined so much that you had to get rid of them before they were worthless. This version sees players going on for a lot longer. The physical stats still decline (although not as sharply) but I have seen the other stats e.g. positioning, anticpation etc improve to counter act this. The best players e.g. Messi, Ronaldo etc go to their late 30's and still make an impact.
Yeah thats very true, I just hope that age counts for something because like you siad, why the hel would i keep older players? altho one thing i did notice was team usually played better when i had Schwignsteiger playing. maybe it was just me

There is a certain age a player must be before he can tutor another (younger) player. I have noticed a difference in the development of younger players who are being tutored.

i preffer to play game with players at age 24+, several youngers just for sub

almost got player of the year at age 31 (2nd place) and player of month 38 age

age really factors in "finished" mentality, and this stuff is well done in this game.
Older players are not likely to change and this is good side of it (at least for me). You know what to expect.
Young players are not consistent and require development (ability -> potential, on this way they will : slack, get injuries, refuse lower contract, require firstteam time.. etc)

Yes, phisical stats are decreasing but they are not really important +1 or -1 doesn't really matters. Also to have a tutor is a nice bonus

p.s.
i have very low skill with youngsters. lol

Strikers peak at 24-26, midfielders at 25-27, defenders 28-30, keepers 30+. Those numbers aren't exact of course. But for example a 24 year old defender might improve quite a lot to reach his potential ability by playing matches on a high level, while a striker with the same age probably doesn't benefit that much anymore.

Also after 23 you won't get huge improvement from training anymore. So if you like to mold someone into your squad, get them young, give them specific training and get them match experience.

Edit: age does affect mental stats and they usually don't decline, unlike the physical attributes which can drop like the bass in a Skrillex song.
