it's a lazy way for devs to increase difficulties of the game.. So the AI can produce twice as many soldiers as you do, for no particular reason.
Yet I started with him bc it said it was easy lol.
Figures bc Ancient Egypt has never been my greatest area of historical expertise so I was relying on the game to actually be accurate when it described the difficulty of each campaign.
yeah they did the same with wh3 where Empire was recommended yet until the latest DLC it was one of their hardest starts ever
Sounds about right. You have a recommendation over Ramses? I didn't play the og Pharoah and I thought since it is ostensibly about ancient Egypt I wanted to try an Egyptian faction.
Yes, play Amenmesse or Tausret...lol jk (but barely), here is a ton of tips, not direcly related to Ramses but will still help in general:

Amenmesse is great. Capture the south and head north to restore Egypt. Filthy rich, best bows in game . No sea people or canaanites to worry about .
You only get a couple civs to worry about, memnon is pretty tame in comparison to many other ''notable minors'' and Libu's while annoying are just a small thorn in your side but nothing more.
Easy mode but it is a bit boring imo.
Yea I forgot to mention that I have been playing on hard/hard
Use the ambush stance to lure enemy army outside of city
Definitely a tougher start than I thought since you can't support a full stack and have less armored troops while needing to expand aggressively.
I am clearly missing something bc I find myself not doing as well in battles. What is lethality anyway? Mayne that's got to do with it?
I opened up his campaign briefly and shocked to see has nearly all the benefits to utilise his skill to get 20% movement on winning a battle. Only requires an additional skillpoint or 2. Then i would suggest looking at getting him tied to horus,,,, not checked to see if this has changed but OG Horus gave him 20-40% reset as well.... You can turn ramesses in to pinball machine with the right army.
2) having a line of outposts that give +50% movement points back = can march to defend own areas from one side to other in one turn
personal notice, Ramesses is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥ to play. big watery area on north gives AI plenty of speed and can assault coastal cities with a nasty surprise, also Red Sea in addition of Nile gives AI a direct motorway for other flanks. hard pressed from every direction.
