Really wonder why people think such vague and non-descript messages would fix anthing unless the complaining isn't the means but the end.
Have you not heard about Intel bug, primarily affecting these CPUs? Try to see if one of the workarounds can fix your problems. If not, maybe RMA your CPU.
It occurs during a save of any sort, or the beginning of a new turn. WHEN ONE CAUSES IT is the random part. I played several hours without issue on the day I bought it, but the next.. well.
If it happened randomly, or when things were ACTUALLY happening, I'd think it was my chip. (Yep, latest and greatest, hoooorayy..) But the fact that it's very specific events causing it every time it occurs.. I just can't accept that as the cause unless it's specifically an issue with the game's programming first.
Since installation I've had the chip controlled by Intel's recommended power specs (not mobo defaults and no boosts) and got the update once I could. No other game gives me trouble and it doesn't seem like a stability issue.
Hell, event viewer doesn't even recognize anything happening. Like the game isn't CRASHING, it's just... closing.
Those are the worst. I get random crashes in Three Kingdoms, but I managed to fix them by turning off XMP in bios. I got DDR5 5600.
Before I upgraded my PSU, I would get some annoying crashes - but those would show in Event Viewer more often than not. Limiting power limit helped somewhat in that case.
There is too much happening right now, with the Intel stuff, the Microsoft stuff. I haven't experienced any crashing in Pharaoh Dynasties myself, but I doubt its as simple as turning off XMP.
