Chosen of Troy frustrations
Is the "Impetuous" trait retuned with the dynasties update? They seem to go "out of control" and charge on their own in every battle now. Hector's army starts with a unit of them and they're great in melee, but useless tactically unless your whole plan is just to bum rush the enemy. This type of trait has been a thing for ages, but I don't remember it triggering so frequently. It's doubly annoying for a faction that is defense focused like Troy, to have 1 unit suicide charge while the rest of your army is formed up for defense.

I guess it's called "heedless charger" now, and the trait description just says "may Berserk if left out of combat too long". I guess I'm wondering what the specifics are of how this is triggered as it seems to me it's not so much a "may charge" as a "will charge", and they seem to charge every time within the first few minutes of the battle. This is particularly frustrating when fighting defensively and out numbered. Like I'm trying to be tactical and set up advantageous positions but they just bowl forward and either get themselves annihilated without doing any damage, or force me to all out charge to support them thus ceding any potential advantage. I'm considering starting over my Troy campaign and just deleting that unit, which sucks because they're one of my most powerful units but are honestly more trouble than their worth in the extremely tight maneuvering of the early game.

Anyone have any more info on this trait and how it works? Any ideas on how to synergize with it as Troy to make them not such a liability?

I stopped recruiting the unit that does this after having two units chase a shattered unit of 12 guys across the map and off the field of battle effectively removing them from my army anyways. No reason to have them if most of the time they are worthlessly running off somewhere.

Thanks for sharing the mod.

The Chosen have one redeeming quality: they're effective. Just this morning my starting unit left my comfortable defensive formation, rushed forward and... killed the enemy general. Stupid but effective.

I didn't read the tooltips and haven't played TW troy so was a bit of a shock when they did it to me this morning, not opposed to mechanics but I had 4 of 6 out of control in a attacking siege battle which doesn't work for me at all, but my other pet hate is units standing around doing nothing while next to allies who are fighting so at least they avoid that :)
The mod works but I'm on the fence on using it for the whole run or not

Same here. I had a battle where I was relied on them, depending on them very hard, only to fight the entire battle without any control over them, in fact they were running out of control everywhere doing nothing against enemy units, and so, this is by far the most BS unit in the entire game

Yeah it sucks. I would prefer if it was more of the old Medieval 1 style "charge without orders". You still have control of them but If you don't pay attention they will charge.
